Festival or Moussem of roses at Kalaa M'Gouna 🌺

On the 2nd weekend in May, the Rose Festival attracts thousands of visitors every year, who come to enjoy the festive program of folk songs and dances, parades and a craft sale. In the south of Morocco, Kalaat M'Gouna sees its population double in this season of rose harvest every year; dressed in their finest costumes, the inhabitants of this region sprinkle visitors with rose water and throw rose petals at them.

The festivities begin and will last three days.
The inhabitants of all the neighbouring villages meet at Kelaa M'Gouna.
Exhibitions of craft products (jewellery, carpets,etc.) and agricultural products, musical events and competitions complete this rose festival.

Cherry Festival of Sefrou 🍒

The cherries of Sefrou, 25 Km from Fez, are renowned throughout Morocco. The cherry festival is an opportunity to exhibit and sell the different kinds of cherries grown in the oasis of Sefrou and its region. We can attend folk dances.The festival lasts 3 days in June: dancing, singing and processions with the Cherry Queen.
The Sefrou cherry is the "Elbeldi" a black cherry that is very sweet when ripe.

The local population of Sefrou celebrates the natural and cultural beauty of the region, symbolized by the cherry and the new Cherry Queen chosen that year at the end of a competition that attracts female competitors from the region and the whole country.

The highlight of the festival is a parade with fantasia, rural and urban music, majorettes and brass bands, and floats representing local producers.
In the center stands the Cherry Queen who offers cherries to the spectators, dressed in her most beautiful costumes.
Festival of IMILCHIL 💍

The engagement moussem is undoubtedly one of the best known moussems in Morocco.
It takes place in August or September in the village of Imilchil in the High Atlas.

During this festival, the tribes of the region get together to exchange their products, and although this tradition is a bit outdated, the women take advantage of the event to choose their future husband from among the single men.
